Egyptian Internet Enraged by Sexist Etisalat Campaign
Etisalat Misr’s latest campaign “El far2 ma been el awlad w el banat” has been making waves on social media… and not the good kind.
The campaign started with a few pictures that showed how boys and girls react to different situations, such as boys supposedly taking no time to get ready, while girls take as long as days.
The Egyptian Internet was mildly upset, but didn’t take action until this now-deleted post that caused everyone to go freakin’ nuts:
You were probably trying to be funny, Etisalat, and failed epically. Sexism is not a good look — on anyone, but especially not on one of the country’s biggest and most visible brands.
WE SAID THIS: Don’t miss What I Wish I Knew Before Being Born an Arab Girl.
