Egypt’s Top Companies Try to Reach the Target by Joining Elmenu’s Food Delivery Marathon
Food is an Egyptian culture, it’s embedded in our core values, and runs in our blood; that surely goes without saying. With all that being said, it’s no surprise that Egyptian employees brag about their all you can eat-records. Be it a champion’s breakfast, a fatty delicious lunch, or just random comfort food, companies keep joining the food delivery marathon, especially that we have a thing for eating together. That’s why ElMenus.com decided to dig a little deeper beyond that with a first of its kind corporate competition.
In light of the platforms expansion plans, they decided to spice things up for the poor employees pushing them to blow off some steam with a fun competition under the name “Akeelet El Target“. In case you haven’t noticed, ElMenus, the online food delivery platform, has been extensively expanding during the past three months. During that period only, they’ve expanded their delivery services to eight more neighborhoods in Cairo including Mohandessin, Maadi, Dokki, Zamalek, Nasr City, Heliopolis, Downtown, and Garden City. Within a week from now, they’ll start operating in the 6th of October and in a week later in New Cairo successfully covering the entire capital.
The competition is super simple; it’s all to figure out which Egyptian company eats the most! All you need to do is sign up by filling in a form on behalf of your organization and when the competition launches in your area, you’ll get a unique promo code with EGP 50 off of any order above EGP 100. The contest unlocks one area at a time starting Zamalek, Mohandessin, Dokki, and downtown consecutively. It’ll last there for 7-10 days followed by Heliopolis, Nasr City, Maadi, New Cairo, and the 6th of October.
The campaign’s video features CEOs of well-known companies sarcastically pushing their teams towards reaching their targets, which later on turn out to be food orders for the contest! The humorous video has grabbed massive attention, as well as positive feedback, ever since its release garnering more than 600,000 views in total. So far, as they were super fond of the idea, the people at Coca-Cola were first to hop in with an entertainment zone and coke fridges for the top winners. Jumia soon followed them offering vouchers and a gaming zone to the runner-ups.
This is just the beginning; a series of companies are expected to jump aboard, but nothing’s announced yet. On a side note, prizes are so tempting; 2nd place will win 150 burgers from wherever they fancy, while 1st place winners will get 2,000 pieces of sushi from Mori Sushi!
