FIFA has tapped two of the fastest-rising artists from Africa’s music scenes, Egypt’s indie-pop sensation Nour and Nigerian singer-songwriter Yarden, for the official anthem of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, ‘TMRW’S GOAT’.
Blending Afrobeats rhythms with Nour’s soft, ethereal vocals, the multilingual track opens with the sharp sound of a referee’s whistle before erupting into a chorus of euphoric chants, the kind of “la la la” and “ola ola ola” refrains that have become staples of football anthems and FIFA soundtracks alike.
Hailing from Cairo, Nour first made her mark in Egypt’s alternative pop scene with her sleek, synth-driven sound and emotionally layered songwriting. Following the success of her breakout single ‘Meen Ysadak’, she continues to evolve her distinct sonic identity, now stepping onto a global stage with ‘TMRW’S GOAT’, a track that merges her introspective style with a more communal, celebratory tone. Lyrically, it’s a song of boundless ambition and unity, celebrating the dreams of young players on the brink of greatness.
Meanwhile, Lagos-born Yarden is redefining Afrobeats with a genre-blurring mix of soul, rhythm, and global energy. After his 2023 viral hit ‘Wetin’, he became one of Nigeria’s most talked-about new voices, embodying the fearless, borderless creativity driving African music’s global influence.
Set to take place from 3 to 27 November, this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup is the first-ever 48-team FIFA competition, hosted entirely at Qatar’s Aspire Zone. The tournament will feature 104 matches, offering fans a chance to experience world-class football and culture in one place.
