Egyptian Tourism Police Bans Drinking Alcohol on Sahel Beaches
Egypt’s top summer vacation spot, North Coast, has been under fire this week after photos circulated on social media of a live performance in a club. The go-go dancers were provocatively dressed, Egyptians had a lot to say and the whole fiasco ended up with shutting down one of Sahel’s biggest night clubs.
According to Youm7, the police raids did not stop there. Apparently, drinking alcoholic beverages on Sahel beaches has been banned. The Tourism Police demands that residents must abide by the new applied rules. Legal measures will be taken against establishments that do not comply to the new security regulations.
The news came shortly after six tourists were attacked by the beach in Hurghada. We’re still not sure if this applies to public or private beaches, or how this will even actually work.
