Cairo, Egypt -- View from the minarets of the Bab Zuwayla gate. One of the three first gates installed around the historic walled city of Cairo, standing at the southern boundary of old Fatimid Cairo. The two minarets atop this tower actually belong to the nearby Mosque of al-Mu'ayyad, which sits just inside this gate. For a small fee, it is possible to climb the minarets for a spectacular view of old and new Cairo. Egypt made it to the list of the 20 countries with the worst reputation in the world; the good news is, it came 16th on the list. The list was compiled by the Reputation Institute in their annual RepTrak Index.

The reason for Egypt’s placement in the 16th rank is its political instability and the dissatisfaction of liberal and conservative parties alike of the current government.

Middle Eastern and African countries dominated the list; Iraq topped the list, Iran came second, Saudi Arabia came fourth, Nigeria came fifth, Algeria came seventh, Angola came eighth, Qatar came 18th and Israel came 20th.

WE SAID THIS: Oh dear.
