Egypt to Show Uncut Movies Starting in April
In a surprising move, the head of Egypt’s censorship board, Fathi Abdul Sattar, has announced that Arab and foreign films will be shown uncut starting from the beginning of April.
Movies will be fully presented, he said, without sex scenes being cut as per usual. However, films that promote atheism and pornography will still be banned.
The decision comes after a year of meetings and discussions on the issue, Abdul Sattar explained. Television will, however, remain under the tight control of the censorship board.
