Emojis aren’t just an accessory to texting, emojis are now a way of life, it’s a lifestyle. What would we do without the cheeky monkey emoji? Or the women in red dancing salsa? We’d be lost of course. One Egyptian understands the struggle and has taken emojis to the next level by creating Egymoji.

For her bachelor thesis, Yasmine Nagui created Egymoji. As the name suggests, it’s an app that, yes, allows you to use Egyptian emojis. Nagui tells us that she aims to improve visual communication within the Egyptian culture using this app. “The inspiration behind the app was the lack of Arab presence within the original emoji collection. We, Egyptians, needed something that’ll help improve our visual communication within our culture.”

The next time you want fool for breakfast, all you have to do is just send a fool cart emoji to your work WhatsApp group and you’re done. We cannot wait till we download the app ourselves and have our kind of fun with it, but let’s just tell you, our favorite is “fakes.”
