Vegans in Toronto are probably living their best lives right now, as their options have increased with the opening of Eat Nabati! The Egyptian Vegan Restaurant is taking things to a whole new level and it’s already making mad waves ever since its launch in June, with features and reviews in local and international media platforms.

Eat Nabti aims to highlight this diversity of Egypt’s local cuisine through modern twists to promote an environmentally sustainable diet. The restaurant solidifies the fact that Egyptian cuisine is much more than falafel and meat dishes that are popular in the west.

The founder of the restaurant, Israa Ali is a Canadian/Egyptian former nutritionist influenced by an Alexandrian heritage. Israa pays homage to her mother’s recipes by creating variations of Middle Eastern street foods that are both recognizable and experimental. She is also the owner of the big sister restaurant in Oakville called Dar Nabati.

“We’re neither completely raw vegan, nor ‘junk food’ vegan. What Eat Nabati offers is something in the middle — modern and healthy quick bites that will still deliver the endorphin-high only street food can provide” said the founder.

WE SAID THIS: How can eggplant and falafel look that good?!
