Dubai International Airport (DXB) just clocked a record-breaking 46 million passengers in the first half of 2025 — up 2.3% from the same time last year. And that’s despite a turbulent June that saw airspace closures across the Middle East.

Q1 2025: The Momentum Begins
The year kicked off strong. Between January and March, DXB welcomed 23.4 million travelers. January alone brought in 8.5 million passengers — the busiest the airport has ever been in that month.

Q2 2025: Growth Against the Odds
Between April and June, an additional 22.5 million passengers passed through DXB, representing a 3.1% year-over-year increase. Even with flight cancellations and reroutes in June due to the Israel-Iran conflict, the airport kept operations moving. April hit its milestone with 8 million passengers — another monthly record.
Averages That Say It All
On average, about 7.7 million people flew through DXB each month in H1 2025, with 254,000 passengers per day — numbers that continue to position it as the world’s busiest international hub.
Flights, Reach, and Airlines
In the first six months, DXB handled 222,000 total flights. The airport is currently connected to 269 cities across 107 countries, served by 92 international airlines. That level of global connectivity is a big part of what keeps Dubai at the center of tourism, trade, and business.

What’s Coming Next
Passenger numbers are expected to continue rising in the second half of the year, particularly during the late-summer travel peak and into a busy winter season. One major highlight? The Dubai Airshow 2025 is set to be bigger than ever.
Why It Matters
Aviation is a key driver of Dubai’s economy, projected to account for 32% of the city’s GDP and support one in four jobs by 2030. Even in the face of global challenges, DXB continues to demonstrate the power of agility, scale, and smart planning.
