DIY: Gingerbread Scrub
It’s time to start pampering yourself, don’t you think?
This is by far the easiest DIY ever. You know you’re guilty of “passing” when it comes to DIY, knowing that it involves getting off the couch. You think, “Why make it when I can buy it?”
We’re here to show you that getting off the couch for just five minutes is totally worth it. When you DIY, you save money and you know exactly what’s going into the end product – no toxic preservatives and no “Made in China”.
This week, it’s gingerbread time. Yes, gingerbread!
This isn’t only cheap, quick and easy but it’s also all natural, smells incredible and absolutely does wonders for your skin.
Things you’ll need:
- 500g/2 cups of brown sugar
- 240ml/1 cup of oil (Olive oil, coconut oil and sweet almond oil are all good choices)
- 2 tbsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp mixed spice (Or pumpkin pie mix)
- A jar or a container
- Optional extras: Add 1 tbsp vitamin E oil or 1 tbsp of honey for dry skin
Instructions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. If the mixture is too oily, add sugar, if it’s too dry, add more oil. Add just spice measurements to your liking. Some oils can mask the scent of the ginger and cinnamon, so add more if needed.
2. Store in an air-tight container or jar and decorate!
3. There’s no step three. That’s it! Easy as 1-2 and use.
