Viral Visual: Extreme En Pointe Dancing

Let us introduce you to Amelie Segarra, a ballerina that has taken en pointe dancing to a whole new level. The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a ballerina is posture, elegance and grace.

In this video, Amelie shows us the flip side of ballet, Black Swan-style.

Watch her perform in a dark theater with bulky butcher knives tied to her dainty ballet shoes. Her screams of frustration clash with the scraping – then stabbing – of the knives against the grand piano on which she dances, reflecting the excruciating pain and spotlight pressure of professional dance.

Nour El Sayed has always been fascinated by photography and art. She spends most of her time trying to combine both and ending up with a triumph.
