Art Enthusiasts Rejoice: Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island Welcomes New Art Space
Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island is known to ooze with culture and arts. It’s a literal art lover’s dream, showcasing works of historical, cultural, and sociological significance. Now, there’s a new art space on the island: the first and only private art foundation in the Cultural District, founded by His Excellency Bassam Freiha.
Kicking off, they’ll have an inaugural exhibition called Echoes of the Orient. In this exhibition, rarely before-seen works of art from the private collections of Freiha will be on display. The exhibition places femininity at center stage with candid representations of chamber maids as well as depictions of maternal affection on display.
On the other end of the spectrum is 19th-century photography from the Orientalist art movement by artists like Gabriel Lékégian and Jean Pascal Sébah. Guests will also experience the rich photography of renowned contemporary and modern Arab artists.
This new art space will serve as a thriving culture and art scene, attracting even more collectors to share their work with the public. The Bassam Freiha Art Foundation will open its doors soon on March 24 for everyone to come and experience its unique art.
