Ahmed El-Awady Announces the Full Recovery of Yasmine Abdel Aziz
Fans from across the Arab World were thrilled to find a post from Yasmine Abdel Aziz on the 10th of September. She wrote:
My dear fans in Egypt and the rest of the Arab World, I have missed you so much. I wanted to reassure you that, thank God I am much better ❤️❤️❤️
Despite the fact that I was going through my lowest, your love and prayers kept me going. I really saw death in the eye. It is by God’s grace and mercy that I am able to reassure you all today that I have recovered.
Thank you to all my fans for your support and your prayers.
Yasmine Abdel Aziz’s husband, Ahmed El-Awady, joined Egyptian TV presenter Lamis El Hadidy on her talk show ‘Kelma Akhera’ (The Final Word). During the telephone interview, Ahmed set the record straight about his wife’s health condition and her journey to recovery.
The Full Story:
El-Awady reveals that Yasmine had gynecologic surgery on the 11th of August at a private hospital in Cairo. Stressing that he didn’t want to talk about the possibility of a medical error, El-Awady emphasized the failure to follow up with Yasmine after her surgery.
Yasmine had been in a state of agony for four days, complaining of severe pain and that she felt she was dying. El-Awady continuously called the surgeon who had performed her surgery…who did not take the matter seriously at all. Yasmine’s husband was watching his wife’s health deteriorate whilst the surgeon claimed he was on holiday. He continued to laugh at Yasmine’s complaints, convinced that these are the ‘normal’ side effects that can happen to 15% of women who undergo the same surgery.
Second Opinion & Correction Surgery:
Not convinced, El-Awady decided to get a second opinion – and thank God he did! Yasmine had only three hours left to live and needed emergency surgery immediately. At this point, Yasmine was completely unconscious, so her husband gave the authorization and she went into surgery.
It was later decided that Yasmine Abdel Aziz would complete her treatment at a Swiss hospital.
The Rumours:
After it was announced that Yasmine Abdel Aziz was being flown out to Switzerland to complete treatment, several media platforms were quick to declare that the couple had divorced. Why? All because Ahmed did not fly with Yasmine.
El-Awady revealed that the real reason for this was because he had yet to receive the second dose of his COVID-19 vaccine. Thus, preventing him from flying due to the rules and regulations Switzerland has put in place.
Malpractice and Invasion of Patient’s Privacy:
Yasmine’s life was at severe risk due to the lack of care and attention from doctors and nurses at the hospital. El-Awady highlights the issue of neglect in the Egyptian medical sector, confirming plans to take legal action and trusting that justice will be served.
El-Awady also expressed great anger towards Dr Maher Omran, for disclosing confidential information online, revealing the details of his wife’s health conditions. This of course is against the law and breaches the ethics of medical practice.
From day one, Yasmine and Ahmed have been facing negativity and endless rumours. However, El-Awady has proved himself to be a supportive and caring husband in his efforts to protect his wife’s privacy.
We wish Yasmine Abdel Aziz and Ahmed El-Awady a safe return to Egypt.
