It is a traditional dish from the Levant, and it’s very popular in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon,Palestine, Saudi Arabia and Syria. So basically everywhere!
The dish includes meat, rice, and fried vegetables placed in a pot, which is then flipped upside down when served, hence the name maklouba, which translates literally as “upside-down.” To show how much we love this dish, we’ve decided to compile a list of our favorite recipes that’ll get your bellies go all aggressive.
