With the inevitable outbreak of the Israeli-Hamas war that is disrupting sensitive political relations on a global scale, many presidents decided to state their stance clearly from the start, split between condemning the two sides or trying to support them equally while calling for reaching an agreement.

Many non-Arab countries acknowledge the horrific circumstances of Palestinians and condemn Israeli attacks.

Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed Moscow’s support for the Palestinians’ right to freedom and statehood. He emphasized the importance of a ceasefire and allowing humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip, fearing the displacement of thousands of Palestinians from the area.

The Kremlin said Putin expressed Russia’s willingness to work towards “ending the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation and achieving a peaceful settlement through political and diplomatic means.”

Following Putin’s statement on October 13 suggesting the creation of an independent Palestine state. On Telegram, Hamas wrote that it “appreciates Russian President Vladimir Putin’s stance on the ongoing Zionist aggression against [its] people and his denunciation of the siege of Gaza.” Hamas added that it welcomed Russian attempts to stop the “aggression” against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Colombia

Colombia has kicked out of the country the Israeli ambassador as a response to the genocide against the Palestinian people. President of Colombia Republic announced decisively on X, formerly Twitter “If we have to suspend foreign relations with Israel, we will suspend them. We do not support genocides. The president of Colombia will not be insulted.”

Since the Hamas attack on October 7, Pedro had refused to condemn attacks by the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, comparing the situation in Gaza with the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro yesterday announced his intention to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which is suffering from a harsh siege as a result of the Israeli aggression. https://t.co/jf4wgI4dun

Turkey

Turkish President Recep Tayib Erdogan wrote on X “we have not accepted and will not accept any steps or measures that do not respect the privacy of Jerusalem, which contains the holy places of three heavenly religions, and the status of the Haram al-Sharif, where the Masjid al-Aqsa is located.”

Erdogan stated that Turkey’s position on the war is against killings of innocent civilians on both sides. He also condemns the violations carried out by Israel, from cutting electricity and water, and subjecting Palestinians to constant bombardment. subjected to constant bombardment and preventing them from the most basic human needs.

Iran

Iran’s stance also is decisive since it hailed the Palestinian attack calling it a “proud operation” and a “great victory.” Iran does not recognize Israel and has made support for the Palestinian cause a centerpiece of its foreign policy ever since the Islamic Revolution of 1979.

According to VOA News Iran warned Israel of escalation if it failed to end aggressions against Palestinians, with its foreign minister saying other parties in the region were ready to act.

Moreover, according to Reuters, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi told Putin that supporting the Palestinians is Iran’s foreign policy priority but the “resistance” groups make their own independent decisions.

#Iran leader: On #Palestine, what world witnesses is a genocide…We have to react…Some foreign officials say why Palestinians kill civilians. Those in settlements are not civilians. They're all armed. Meanwhile, the regime kills children, women & civilians hundred times more. pic.twitter.com/Y7ZcQwaRkj

Indonesia

Pro-Palestinian sentiment is widespread in the most populated Muslim country Indonesia as a hugely. President Joko Widodo calls for the Israel-Hamas war to be resolved to abide to UN parameters and avoiding human causalities.

“The root cause of the conflict, which is the occupation of Palestinian land by Israel, must be resolved immediately in accordance with the parameters that have been agreed upon by the U.N.,” said Joko Widodo in his first public comment since the Hamas attack.

President of Indonesia has spoken out regarding the war between Israel and Palestine. He urged that the root of the problem, namely the occupation of Palestinian territories by Israel, be resolved immediately in accordance with the parameters agreed upon by the United Nations. https://t.co/m2bGflLG5z
