Egyptian, Mohamoud Abou Zeid, Elected to Represent Arab Countries At The UNESCO’s IHP
The UNESCO’s International Hydrological Programme (IHP) members have elected the Egyptian, Mohamoud Abou Zeid, the former Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, to be the representative of the Arab countries in its meeting in Paris last February.
Abou Zeid was the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources for a consecutive 12 years, from 1997 till 2009. He holds a Ph.D. in groundwater and he acquired it from the University of California. According to Egypt Today, Abou Zeid headed the World Water Council think tank since its founding in 1996 until 2003 and presided over the African Ministers’ Council on Water between 2005 and 2009.
