The new axis connects East Cairo communities and districts with New Cairo City, relieving traffic congestion on the Cairo-Suez Road and reducing commute times. In addition, through the new mass transit terminal, this new axis will connect the First Settlement and Cairo International Airport.

In 2020, Egypt’s road quality ranked second highest in Africa and number 28, globally. Rising 90 ranks over the previous years when it ranked to number 118.
