These Stunning Videos of Tripoli Will Make You Quit Everything and Go There
Tripoli is the second largest city in Lebanon after its capital, Beirut. However, the majority of Lebanese people have never set foot in this city, fearing that it’s unsafe. Although it’s near the border of Syria, Tripoli is everything but a warzone. The city is full of things to discover, with plenty of secrets scattered around in the North of Lebanon. With today’s technology, we’re able to show people that though Tripoli needs a little upgrade, it is a happy city, free of harm, and fun to visit.
In aerial view, we can see the Rachid Karami International Fair that was designed in the 60s. It’s full of gardens and various monuments, and has its own theater arena. We also hover over a lot of history like the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles, commonly known as 2al3et Trablos. More than that, we even see touristic favorites such as the souks of Tripoli, and the abandoned train station. That’s not even the half of things to find in Tripoli! Akh shu bheb trablos.
Recently held, was the first Tripoli Photo Marathon event, which is an initiative by Frame Beirut to showcase the beauty and authenticity of Tripoli. In this video, photographers from Beirut who traveled all the way to this city to participate in the photo marathon talk about their experience. The video is full of shots of different known places in Tripoli, comments from locals, and interesting information about Tripoli. One of my favorite quotes from this video was: “Anyone who hasn’t visited Tripoli has not discovered Lebanon, because Lebanon is Tripoli.” Very on spot!
