Fire Takes Hold of Three Stores in Abu Dhabi

A fire took hold of three stores in the Baniyas Cooperative Society building, located in between Abu Dhabi and al-Ain, yesterday at 4:45 p.m. No injuries or casualties were reported.

Civil Defense were summoned to deal with the fire, rapid intervention units were present at once and prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings, according to Director General of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al-Ansari.

He called on owners of businesses and markets to ensure their properties meet safety requirements, make sure that all electrical wiring is sound and safe and avoid overloading power transformers, according to a report by WAM.
