The Middle East Fashion Council Announces its Official Launch With a Promise For a Sustainable Future
The Middle East Fashion Council (MEFC) just announced its official launch, positioning itself as the first fashion council globally with sustainability as its core value. We’re very proud to witness our region taking further steps in committing to the climate change and pollution issue, and aspiring to fulfill the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
MEFC aims to solely grow a culture of diversity as well as inclusion, in a promise to tackle socially and environmentally pressing issues in order to implement positive and real change by collaborating with platforms and organizations to drive sustainable fashion to the forefront of the industry.
MEFC will collaborate and work alongside four main international fashion councils; British Fashion Council, Fédération Française de la Couture, Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana, and Council of Fashion Designers of America to promote and encourage people to choose a sustainable path that protect resources and minimizes our carbon footprint.
Also, MEFC just endorsed the announcement of the Middle East Fashion Week which will soon celebrate its first season in Spring of 2021, bringing a five-day ‘fashion extravaganza’ featuring more than 20 designers and a 3-day forum on sustainability in the fashion industry! We can’t wait for the event.
