The Brotherhood
We are in a state of war even if we all try to deny it, move on and get adapted. It’s not wrong to admit that the country is in one of its worst states. Being hopeful that this will end soon or not is no longer the issue. The problem is attempting to understand the current situation.
I don’t think the debates revolving around whether the army had the right to eradicate Raba’a or people sympathizing with the victims of the act from both sides would do any good.
Everyone is overwhelmed, locked up at home watching the death toll rising every day. What is happening?
What’s happening is that the Muslim Brotherhood members are not all blind sheep! Unfortunately, many of them are not just well-educated but believe for a fact that the cause they are fighting for is worth their lives. They have been raised to believe so, belonging to a tribe of people who feed them the idea that what they say and do is nothing but to glorify and save their religion.
It would be lame to try defending their brutal and terrorizing acts but the least one can do is know and believe that the Muslim Brotherhood will defend themselves till their last breath.
Founder, Hassan El-Banna prepared his people to this situation as he preached for patience and no surrender. He explained to the generations to come that they will face hatred and obstacles from everyone who does not accept or know the truth about Islam. He made them believe that their mission should continue and fight back against the “envy” of the people or the leaders.
El-Banna succeeded into planting in the heads of his followers that it will be quite normal to find nations perceiving them as terrorists and that pointing fingers and accusations will happen. Portraying the Muslim Brotherhood as the enemy has been a fact that they have been living and still living. They knew that through the years they will be arrested, imprisoned, tortured; all thinking that this is an exam they are passing to detect the strength of their faith in God and Islam.
The point is in order to understand what’s happening, we need to understand how these people think. They will most certainly not back down and they don’t care how long this “exam” will take.
Will Egypt still be able to conquer such fierce mentality?
