Have you ever wanted to play squash in the shadow of the Great Pyramid? Well, whether that’s your life-long dream or not, more than 50 from the world top players will get to do just that next month! When we say top players, we mean Egyptian squash king Mohamed El-Shourbagy, and queen Nour El-Sherbini will be among them.
Squash returns to the Great Pyramid of Giza this fall with the Al-Ahram Squash Open NewGiza, offering a total of $200k in prize money. Yup, you read that right. A total of 56 players from 13 countries are expected to take part in the competition, which will take place from September 17-23.
The tournament, featuring competitions for both men and women, will offer a total of $100,000 in prize money to men and another $100,000 to women. Qualification rounds will take place at City View Club House on Sept. 17-18, and then the main draw will happen September 19.
