- If television show Once Upon a Time isn’t quite creepy enough for you, it soon will be – Marilyn Manson is joining the show’s cast this November as the voice of the character Shadow. Self-proclaimed Manson fans and show creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz explained their choice saying, “We wanted to cast someone with the vocal ability to make our skin crawl.” Good choice, guys.
- This year’s nominees for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have just been announced, and include Nirvana, Kiss, LL Cool J, Hall & Oats, Yes, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens and Deep Purple. The inductees will be announced in December, and the ceremony takes place in April.
- KPop sensation Psy announced this week that he and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler have recorded a duet, saying “When I was in middle school, I literally cried when Aerosmith were singing ‘Crazy’ or ‘Amazing’ or whatever. They were my lifetime role models.”

- Artists including Blur’s Damon Albarn, Idris Elba and Brian Eno are heading to Mali as part of the Africa Express project, a series of collaborations between African and Western musicians that aim to raise awareness about several social causes. This will be Albarn’s 13th visit to the country, and he has previously recorded an album with Malian musicians Afel Bocoum and Toumani Diabaté.
- American talk show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon is honoring Pearl Jam with a week of performances of PJ covers by Chris Cornell, The Avett Brothers, Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold and country singer Dierks Bentley, ending with performances by the band on the final two nights.
