For The Record: Time to Recharge
- Linkin Park and Steve Aoki finally debuted the studio version of their single “A Light That Never Comes”, but you can only hear it by playing a free 3D Facebook game named LP Recharge, which features characters designed by the band members. The track will also appear on Linkin Park’s upcoming album Recharged, due in October.
- Eric Clapton is re-issuing his fantastic Unplugged album this October with additional songs and previously unreleased rehearsal footage. The album has already won six Grammy awards.
- Eddie Murphy has released his new Snoop Lion reggae collaboration “Red Light”, and announced an upcoming album titled 9. Murphy’s last music hit was 1985’s “Party All The Time” which was later popularized by Sharam’s remix. Check out the “Red Light” video here:
- Arcade Fire has released the video for their much-hyped single “Reflektor”, off the upcoming album of the same name:
- Also new this week is Kaskade’s new album Atmosphere, which features vocals by Haley and Late Night Alumni’s Becky Jean Williams, as well as Kaskade’s own vocals on the title track.
- Due to a disagreement with book publisher Penguin, Morrissey has delayed the publication of his autobiography, which would have been in bookstores this coming week. The book explores his childhood in Manchester and relationship with Smiths bandmate Johnny Marr.
- Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon will be appearing on next year’s season of HBO’s Girls. Gordon has also appeared on hit TV shows Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl. The TV industry really needs to come up with more creative show names.
- Next year’s season of American Idol brings Harry Connick Jr to the judging panel, along with Keith Urban and returning judge Jennifer Lopez. The show returns in January.
