PACHAMAMA: A Closer Look to Naila Marei’s Latest Exhibition!
Recently, our team went to check out a beautiful art exhibition called PACHAMAMA, that left us all stunned. We received tons of positive feedback on the stories we posted from art fans on our platform. Thus, we thought that we should delve in more into the artsy exhibition and get to know more about Naila Marei, the Artist who brought it to life.
Pacha mama means Mother Earth; she is the Incan Goddess of fertility, planting and harvesting. This series aims to highlight the majestic power of the sacred feminine, and the connections between women and nature.
“Ancient Egyptians believed that the entire universe was made up of masculine and feminine elements, maintained in a state of perfect balance. Unlike strong patriarchal societies that worshipped the sun and matriarchal societies that worshipped the moon, the Ancient Egyptians worshipped both. Pachamama appreciates and glorifies this ideal. That our existence is merely a sum of our parts; parts male, and parts female. That feminine power isn’t merely gender defined, it is in fact gender neutral.” Explains Naila.
Naila is a Vocalist, Fine Artist, and Illustrator; just as dynamic as her art! She bravely addresses issues of society, tradition, gender, age, and many other taboos that are often left undiscussed. Her exhibitions, like herself, are also dynamic in nature; held in underground venues, where she creates an immersive experience for people to engage with. Inviting for both art patrons and regular passerby alike, to delve into her dimensions; leaving with some sort of mental stimulation or spiritual questions.
