Something big just happened for this Dubai designer! A new Miss Universe was crowned – France’s Iris Mittenaere walked away with the galactic crown, ending Filipina Pia Wurtzbach’s reign as the queen of the universe.

But we didn’t care much for that, what we were fangirling about was the royal blue gown Wurtzbach wore during her final moments as Miss Universe. Why, you say? Well, it was a big moment for a homegrown talent. The dress she wore was made by Dubai-based designer Michael Cinco.
The event, which was held in Manila on Sunday night, gave the Filipina 2016 winner another chance to dazzle, as her win was slightly overshadowed by a now infamous mishap. “She didn’t really get a chance to enjoy her walk when she was crowned in 2015 due to the pandemonium,” Cinco told Gulf News.
