Perseids Meteor Shower 2016: When, Where and How to See It
Sky gazers, star lovers, alien freaks of space, and normal humans who like pretty things, I’ve got amazing news for you! Every August, Perseids meteor shower lights up our night skies. According to CBC, these meteors seem to originate from the constellation Perseus. The perfect days to see the shower are when the Earth will pass through the densest area in the sky. The shower’s peak days are August 11th and 12th.
Where to see it? Anywhere dark! If you live in the city, you’re gonna want to ditch it. If you’re in the Gulf, I envy you greatly… grab light jackets or blankets, drive out to the desert, and marvel at the sky with your friends. If you’re in Lebanon, just pay the electric companies to cut out the power so every Lebanese citizen is forced to gaze at the sky. Yes, that might get you in a lot of trouble, but it’s worth it!
When to see it? I’m going to take a wild guess here…AT NIGHT TIME! No but really, how about we start our sky watch at midnight and stay there till dawn. Why? Because it’s freaking worth the wait!
Do you need a telescope? No, but you’ll look so cool with one!
Will the meteors collide with Earth? Most probably not or else we would have all prepared for our doom by now. But there are rumors that 110 years from now it’s possible! But ain’t nobody got time to worry about that!
WE SAID THIS: Tell your friends about it and call in sick the next day because you’re pulling an all-nighter!
