Kuwaiti Blogger Sentenced to Five Years in Prison Over UAE Insults
Kuwaiti Blogger, Dr. Abdullah Saleh, was just sentenced to five years in prison, with labor, over charges of insulting the UAE. According to Kuwait Times, Saleh has filed an asylum request to Britain, declaring his wish not to return to Kuwait. Moreover, he was sentenced to a number of other criminal charges, with a jail term totaling 31 years.
Last month, the same criminal court in Kuwait sentenced him to five years in prison over “defaming Saudi Arabia.”
“I was sentenced by state security to five years in prison for insulting Saudi Arabia over boycotting Qatar. I do not regret what happened and the videos that I recorded. This is my right,” he tweeted.
