Director Karim El-Shenawy announced that his new film Daye – Seret Ahl El Daye will premiere in cinemas across Egypt starting Wednesday, 3 September. Sharing the trailer on Instagram, El-Shenawy described it as “a complete cinematic journey of love, family, struggle, ambition, and hope.”
Written by Haitham Dabbour, ‘Daye – The Tale of the People of Daye’ follows a 14-year-old Nubian albino boy with a golden voice, nicknamed “Enemy of the Sun,” as he embarks on a magical journey across Egypt with his fractured family, chasing his dream despite being abandoned, bullied, and underestimated, all while hoping to follow in the footsteps of his legendary idol, Mohamed Mounir.
The film features Saudi star Aseel Omran, Sudanese actress Islam Mubarak, alongside Egyptian actors Haneen Said and Badr Mohamed.
