For the first time ever, Ahmed Helmy and Hend Sabry are sharing the screen together. The film, titled “His Weakest Creatures”, also marks Helmy’s long-awaited return to cinema after a three-year break. It’s directed by Omar Hilal, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed hit Voy! Voy! Voy!.
Set in 2007, the story follows an honest zoologist working at the once-famous Giza Zoo. The zoo is falling apart, and so is his home life. With little money and an unexpected pregnancy adding pressure, he struggles to hold on to his principles. Things take a turn when a wealthy visitor offers to “adopt” some of the zoo’s animals, forcing him to face a painful moral choice.

Hend Sabry plays a mother torn between faith, fear, and survival. The film blends dark comedy, drama, and suspense in a story about empathy, sacrifice, and what it means to stay human.
Director Omar Helal says “His Weakest Creatures” was inspired by his childhood memories of the Giza Zoo — “a place of wonder and quiet tragedy.”
Produced by Film Clinic, Front Row, Arabia Pictures, and B Square, filming starts Non ovember 14 in Cairo.
A heartfelt and thought-provoking story about love, integrity, and finding humanity in the most unexpected places.
