According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), international tourism has reached its peak since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the Middle East being the top-performing region.
UNWTO says the Middle East led the recovery of international tourism in 2023, being the only region that “overcame pre-pandemic levels with arrivals 22% above 2019.“
In line with this, Saudi Arabia recorded a 156% increase in tourism, being in the top G20 countries of tourist arrivals in 2023.
