From Algeria To Egypt: ChatGPT Is Now Accessible; What Is It & How To Register

After being restricted from most Arab countries, Open AI announced on Wednesday that ChatGPT is finally available in Egypt, among other Arab Countries like Palestine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.

Initially, Open AI launched ChatGPT in November 2022, and since then countries that haven’t yet gained access have been trying to find other ways to make use of the advanced language models that is known for its conversational human-like tone.

Without official access, the way around was to use a VPN, and then download a mobile application that generates foreign phone numbers. Now users can sign up using their Egyptian cell phone numbers.

The registration process is pretty simple. Users can register through the Open AI or Chat GPT website using a valid email address, and phone number. After that, a code will be sent to the phone number to confirm access.

ChatGPT is available as a web version, on Android, and also on App Store. It grants access to the GPT 3.5 model, but the advanced GPT-4 access requires a subscription to a paid plan that is $20 a month.
