For The First Time Ever, Saudi Arabia Appoints A Woman as the President of a Co-Ed University

Saudi’s Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad Al-Sheikh, announced on Thursday the appointment of Dr. Lilak Al Safadi as the President of the Electronic University, becoming the first woman to head over a Saudi university with both male and female students included.

Doctor Lilac expressed her gratitude in a statement that was posted on social media platforms for the great opportunity given to her by King Salman and the Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. She further expressed her pleasure saying she appreciates the trust and faith, hoping she can fulfill her duties as she should. 

Al Safadi is a software engineer graduate who has succeeded in a series of achievements including being the chief executive officer for the past 20 years in business development and strategic leadership, contributing with over 50 professional research projects in the fields of e-commerce and artificial as well as commercial intelligence. 

Women like Dr. Al Safadi inspire other women to trust their capabilities and means to actually start occupying major roles and titles in society.
