Food Shortages Due to Syrian Unrest
Due to everything that has been going on in Syria, hunger has become an issue. You know it can’t be worse when Damascus residents skin and eat lion from Al Qarya Al Shama Zoo.
With a shortage of food supply and residents dying from hunger, on Eid al Adha last month the clerics issued a fatwa that gave permission to the Syrians to eat cats and dogs if their supply of food is low.
The UN stood by Syria and delivered food to 3.3 million people in Syria last October, and 2.7 the pervious month, but this is still not enough to feed everyone.
The World Food Programme has said that some parts of Damascus are unreachable due to the unrest, while more and more children are being hospitalized for malnutrition, according to UNICEF.
