Ex-Israeli PM Ehud Barak Debunks Misinformation On Bunkers In Al Shifa Hospital

Weeks have passed since Israeli forces targeted Gaza’s largest hospital Al Shifa, under claims that the Hamas group had constructed underground bunkers. The former Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Ehud Barak has debunked to CNN the reality behind those bunkers.

A video filmed by IDF inside the bunkers in question were criticized or rather mocked on social media because it featured unconvincing evidence that Hamas was running activity under the hospital. The videos showed an old laptop and a fighter’s bandana. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak shocked the world when he told CNN that Israel built “bunkers” under Al-Shifa Hospital. Upon hearing this, the interviewer asked Barak if he had misspoken.

“It is already known for many years that they have a bunker that was originally built by Israeli engineers underneath Shifa, now used as a command post by Hamas as a junction of tunnels, part of the [underground] system,” Barak told Christiane Amanpour, who was taken aback by the answer.

A major Israeli newspaper reported the news and commented that Barak’s comments did not contradict the main argument that Hamas was misusing Al Shifa Hospital for what they called terror purposes.
