Egypt Goes From Red to Amber – What Does This Mean For Passengers Flying To The UK?
As of 4 AM on the 22nd of September, Egypt will officially be an Amber Listed Country. This announcement was made yesterday, on the 17th of September by the UK’s Secretary of State for Transport, Mr Grant Shapps.
Red List rules still apply for those travelling to the UK from Egypt before the 22nd of September.
What Removal From UK’s Red List Means:
Egyptian Nationals are now permitted to travel to the UK and the 10-day hotel quarantine is no longer mandatory regardless of nationality. In addition, Egypt’s removal from UK’s Red List will no doubt have a positive effect on its economy and tourism.
