Why Are Egyptians Mad About the New #KENZOxHM Collection?

On November 3rd, H&M are going to be launching their newest collection #KENZOxHM at Citystars, and Citystars only. I, for one, have been going crazy since I’ve heard the news and can’t wait till Thursday so I can purchase as many outfits as I can. Most Egyptians on the other hand don’t agree. Don’t agree one bit.

The post reads: “You must be joking. I read this post a few times hoping that you guys have been joking, but you aren’t. You guys are actually being for real. What kind of collection is this?” Via H&M

I spotted some Egyptians literally channeling their inner-Hulk on Facebook about the collection. And no, I’m not talking about Mark Ruffalo cute, I’m talking about the giant green monster that is always freakin’ angry. Almost 90% of the comments were extremely rude, and not to mention very racist. Like seriously, why? WHY? I don’t want to say that I kinda get it that some people are mad and rude for no reason because I don’t, but to be racist? Just no.

So, I need to make something very clear for those who actually don’t know what’s happening. Clothing giants H&M have decided to join forces with the stylish cats from Kenzo after their successful collaboration with French fashion house Balmain.

But since Kenzo is coming to Cairo, let me tell you more about it. The brand was founded in 1970 by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, and it’s all about edgy prints and colors. This collection is mainly inspired by the 70s, 80s and 90s and it’s going to be very vibrant and playful.

WE SAID THIS: If you’re hating on this collection for absolutely no reason, kindly sit down.
