Apparently, Ramy is a very lucky name for Egyptian-Americans. Rami Malek (look above) is going places at this very moment — from being the lead actor in the hit series Mr. Robot, to starring as Freddie Mercury in the upcoming biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and much more. But, we’re not here to talk about that Ramy, we’re here to talk about Ramy Youssef.

If you don’t know who he is, that’s fine — but you seriously need to because he is currently getting ready to co-create and star in his very own Hulu comedy show. It will hail from The Carmichael Show team of star/co-creator Jerrod Carmichael, co-creator Ari Katcher and production company A24.

The untitled show centers on Youssef’s distinct point-of-view as a contemporary Egyptian-American Muslim, who is caught between multiple worlds — and what it means to be Arab, American, and Muslim at a time when each of those identity markers is going through a crisis of definition.

“I’m excited to bring more fully human, complicated, nuanced Muslim characters to television as part of my ongoing attempt to avoid law school,” said Youssef to Deadline.

WE SAID THIS: Fun fact, several sources confirm that Ramy Youssef is going to be seen in the upcoming season of Mr. Robot — which means that the series’ cast will now have two Egyptian-American Ramys.
