Egypt to Have COVID-19 Vaccine by September

By Nour El-Miligi

Constant efforts are being exerted by all the countries aiming to find a cure for the pandemic and save lives. Fortunately, Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Doctor Mohamed Tageldin announced on Saturday that there is a serious hope of creating an anti-virus vaccine and it will most probably be available for use this upcoming September.

Doctor Tageldin revealed detailed information on Ahmed Moussa’s show, “Ala Masoleyety”, stating that after successful trials being carried out by Oxford University, in collaboration with research-based biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, on 1000 coronavirus patients have shown noticeable improvements because of the vaccine, they’re closer to being ready to release it.

With a confident tone, Doctor Tageldin stated that combatting the virus is becoming easier since many have already been infected and developed an immunity towards the virus. Yet, the Presidential Adviser kept encouraging people to take the virus seriously and comply with the Ministry of Health’s precautions.

AstraZeneca’s branch, located in 6th of October, will make it easy for Egyptians to have a share in the vaccine production once it’s approved since Egypt has already requested a share. AstraZeneca’s president announced that they plan to produce around 400 million doses with the help of Indian companies, to make sure the entire world, especially the developing countries, gets enough doses of the long-awaited vaccine.

Egyptian journalist Amr Adib had contacted the multinational company, revealing during his daily show “Hekaya” that the pharmaceutical company would sell the vaccine at production cost, with no aim to gain profit out of it during the pandemic.

Aside from AstraZeneca, many other pharmaceutical companies in the US, Europe, and China have been making attempts to ensure they have access to the vaccine once it’s officially released.

WE SAID THIS: Stay hopeful!
