Egypt Makes Travel Easier For Canadians With Visa-On-Arrival

Celebrating 70 years of diplomatic ties, Egypt has restored simplified visa options for Canadian travelers.

This marks a major shift from last year’s restrictive policies, which required Canadians without Egyptian origins to apply for visas in advance—either in person or by mail—through the Egyptian Embassy in Ottawa or the consulate in Montreal. These measures were a response to Canada’s visa restrictions on Egyptian citizens.

As of today, December 1, 2024, Canadian travelers can once again enjoy the convenience of obtaining visas on arrival at Egyptian ports of entry or through the streamlined e-Visa system.

This decision highlights a shared commitment to strengthening relations, enhancing accessibility, and fostering meaningful connections between the two nations.
