Egypt Makes Impressive Promises To Investors
Obviously Egypt is growing and in the process of taking us back to where we previously stood, but does that mean that we are ready to offer all that was stated in this video?
Having one of the largest youth populations in the Middle East definitely gives us a platform for an immense labor force, but does that necessarily mean that the economy is ready for new business at this time?
I think that this video was inspiring in the sense that it is re-introducing Egypt as stable and in a stage of reform.
After coming out of a revolution and relatively unstable economy, we are ready to learn from our mistakes and focus on the future of Egypt. I’ll admit though that some of the things mentioned seem a bit far-fetched, like making it possible to “open a business in 72 hours” because instead of bouncing in and out of 20 offices you will be referred to one place – which will probably have a queue of 500 people. So, I’m not saying this will be easy or go as smoothly as advertised, but it is a step in the right direction.
This video can be interpreted in different ways. Some might see it as a desperate attempt to attract the investments that we obviously need, but others will see it as inspirational for what Egypt is capable of. What’s your take?
