Intro
Ever heard of the water crisis? Well, sorry to break it to you, but that ain’t no joke! According to the United Nations, 1.8 billion people are expected to be living in countries with absolute water scarcity by the year 2025. Since Egypt is already having a water deficit of 30 billion cubic meters of drinking water, then it’s expected that our country will make it to that list. Maybe you don’t feel how serious this is right now because you haven’t experienced it. However, if you’ve ever been to Capetown, a city who’s already running out of drinking water, you won’t be taking this for granted.

Each and every one of us should be held accountable for his/her actions. We all contribute to this by wasting water every single day of our lives without being aware of it. A dripping tap alone can waste hundreds of gallons of water! So, we need to start moving and take action towards this before we all regret it later on. Here are six responsible actions you can do to start saving water. Start with yourselves!
Don’t leave the water running

The least you can do is close the tap! Don’t leave the water running when you’re in the shower, brushing your teeth, or washing the dishes.
Take shorter showers

Other than closing the tap when you’re too busy shampooing your hair, try not to lose track of time when you’re in the shower. We know that warm water running over your body feels good and relaxing, but you need to forget about that.
Minimize baths

There are two kinds of people in this world; team shower and team bath. Sorry to tell you, but if you really want to do this then you need to forget about all your Lush bath bombs and your new lavender essential oil. But filling the bathtub with water should be; unfortunately, a crime.
Fix leaking pipes and dripping taps

Check the sewerage system at home and make sure you have no leaking pipes or dripping taps. If you find any, get them fixed as soon as you can. The amount of water wasted may seem minimal but you have no idea what those droplets will add up to eventually.
Do your laundry right

When it comes to laundry, try to run full loads instead of using the washing machine several times as much as possible. Also, in case you’re upgrading to a new one, then you’d better invest in one with efficient water saving technology.
Raise awareness

Besides telling your friends, family, and peers bear in mind that there’s a category in the society that has no clue what’s going on and definitely won’t read this. Like your bawab who leaves the water hose running, or the guy at the garage who washes your car, or the shopkeepers who casually throw a bucketful of water in front of their stores in the morning.
