If you’re an expat living in the Arab World, a second-generation Arab living abroad, or just someone who’s interested to learn one of the most difficult languages in the world, rejoice! Learning the Arabic language is about to get much more fun and easier! Duolingo, the world’s most popular language learning platform just launched an Arabic language course.
Duolingo is a language learning website and app that is used by nearly 300 million users around the world. It makes learning a language more engaging and entertaining through games and challenges. You can set a daily minimum time of playing according to how committed you are.
I came across Duolingo when I wanted to learn Spanish after I finished Narcos and La Casa De Papel. The app is very useful and you’ll find yourself familiar with the language quicker than you’ll expect. There is a daily reminder to help you stay on track and not ditch the course you signed up for, and it’s completely for free.
Duolingo launched the Arabic language course on the 26th of June, and it’s currently available on iOS, Android, and the web. Arabic was one of the most requested courses ever on the platform, and more than 25,000 users signed up for a notification of its launch.
The course will teach Modern Standard Arabic. However, it will be a less formal and more spoken version of Arabic suitable for casual conversations, but one that can also be used across the Arab-speaking world.
