Dubai Named the Best Tourist Destination in the Middle East, and That’s Not All
It’s a great day for the UAE! Emirates just nabbed the title for the region’s leading airline and Dubai was named the region’s leading tourist destination at the World Travel Awards for the Middle East. Oh, and the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, was also named the leading tourist attraction.
The event took place at the iconic Armani Hotel in Dubai last weekend, and attracted 400 travel and tourism leaders. The winners were shortlisted based on the votes of travel professionals, industry leaders and consumer travelers.
What made this event historic is the very fact that Dubai swept all of the categories, taking home more accolades than any other city in the Middle East: Leading family resort (Jebel Ali Golf Resort), leading green resort (Sofitel The Palm), leading hotel in the region (Jumeirah Al Qasr Madinat Jumeirah).
