the United Arab Emirates (UAE), notably Sharjah (the UAE’s third-most populous city after Dubai and Abu Dhabi), has welcomed the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, a huge 12-day program aimed at instilling a love of reading in children.

The festival, now in its 13th edition, began on May 11 and will end on May 22. It is also being held at the Expo Centre Sharjah, under the theme “Create Creativity.” In light of this, the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival will bring together publishers, artists, and creative idea owners to create an open space where children and youth can rebuild their own world through books, practical workshops, art exhibitions, and theatrical performances presented by specialized artists from around the world.

According to The National News, the festival is being organized by 139 publishers from 15 countries, including the UAE, Lebanon, India, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, the United States, Kuwait, Qatar, Sudan, Morocco, Canada, and Iraq. The festival’s itinerary includes 120 cultural activities led by 43 international guests from 21 nations to keep things interesting along the way. Mohamed Henedi, Egypt’s iconic actor and comedian; Kyle Balda, American animator and director of Minions, Jumanji, and Toy Story 2; musician and singer Tarek Alarabi; and authors and creatives from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Italy are among the guests.

The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival will have a session that will mainly focus on how flies walk on ceilings, chameleons change colors, and a huge squid glides around using robotics as technology is also an important aspect kids need to learn about and get exposed to at a young age.

The festival is a powerhouse that strives to provide kids with an educational yet entertaining experience that they will remember for a long time as they learn more about themselves and how to chase after their own passions and ventures throughout their lives!
