#CaptainsOfCareem: Captain of the Household

We give you Zainab Gamal, Careem’s female captain in our inspiring #CaptainsOfCareem series. The wife, mother, and grandmother has always been in the work force.

“I love working a lot, I’ve been working for over 20 years,” she told us.

The perceptions of working women are shifting, she explained: “People are a little surprised, but there are a lot of women who are really excited to see a woman behind the wheel. Seeing a female driver makes women and their families less worried.”

Zainab is one of Careem’s many female captains transporting folks around the region. “Society has been changing and positively progressing,” Zainab says. “Any woman works now and they’re becoming lawyers, nurses and even drivers.”

“If I can drive Careem, than anyone can drive Careem,” she continued.
