Paris Fashion Week always delivers drama, but this season Elie Saab brought something a little different. For the Fall/Winter 2026 Ready-to-Wear collection, the designer turns the spotlight toward the gritty-glam world of 1990s New York art culture. Think gallery openings, downtown creatives, and uptown elegance colliding in one stylish moment. The result? A wardrobe that feels both intellectual and irresistibly seductive.
Power Dressing, Downtown Style
By day, the collection leans into strong, sculptural tailoring. Jackets are architectural with rounded shoulders, cinched waists, and dramatic hips that give the silhouette real presence. Skirts come sharply shaped—either tulip-like curves or sleek tube styles—while trousers stretch long and straight or taper into slim cigarette cuts.
The palette stays cool and confident: midnight black and charcoal dominate fabrics like wool, tweed, and velvet. These pieces are meant to work hard—paired with crisp shirts or simple knits for a look that feels polished but never boring. For moments that demand extra impact, Saab introduces a signature crocodile-print leather, adding texture and attitude to the mix.
After Dark: The Artist’s Muse
When night falls, the mood softens and becomes more dramatic. Flowing organza and chiffon drape the body almost as if styled spontaneously on a mannequin in an artist’s studio. Romantic floral motifs—hand-painted onto mirrored leather—nod to the expressive brushstrokes of Cy Twombly, giving the pieces a painterly, almost poetic energy.
The crocodile motif reappears, this time glimmering on sequined tulle, while lace overlays and trims bring in a seductive edge. Taffeta dresses with puffed skirts and fitted bodices feel perfect for hopping from a gallery opening straight to an after-party. And for the grand finale? Sweeping ballgowns in stormy, cinematic shades that feel made for a dramatic midnight entrance.

A Quick Star Spotting
The front row brought its own sparkle too. Hungarian model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Barbara Palvin was spotted taking in the show, alongside Paul Wesley—best known from The Vampire Diaries. Italian actor and model Michele Morrone also made an appearance, adding a little extra red-carpet energy to the evening.

With “Midnight in Manhattan,” Elie Saab balances sharp tailoring with dreamy evening glamour. It’s a collection that captures two sides of the same woman—powerful by day, artistic and magnetic by night. A little downtown edge, a little uptown romance, and a lot of fashion drama in between.
