San Francisco International Airport, located 12 miles south of downtown San Francisco witnessed the crash of an Asiana Airlines flight carrying 290 passengers and 16 crew.

The Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 was landing on runway 28-left after a trans-pacific flight from Seoul, South Korea, when it crashed with at least two dead, 61 injured

While the sequence of events remains unclear, it appeared the plane landed and then crashed on San Francisco International Airport’s Runway 28L, said Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown.

It is worth to mention that weather conditions were fine and there was little wind, as well as that the twin-engine Boeing 777 has a good safety record as a long-haul aircraft and is used by many major carriers. It should be noted that Asiana is South Korea’s second-largest airline.

According to his Twitter feed, David Eun, the executive vice president of Samsung, was on the flight when it crashed
