Assiut Train-Bus Accident Kills 47

A train collided with a school bus carrying over 50 children yesterday in Al-Mandara village in Manfaloot district in the providence of Assiut located in Southern Egypt. With a reported 47 dead including the bus driver and his assistant  the train tracks were covered in scattered belongings of the children as well as dispersed mostly unrecognizable remains of the children.

Parents wailed as they tried to find their loved ones with the remaining 7 who survived the heart wrenching accident being treated most suffering from the loss of limbs.

The accident is said to have taken place due to the fact that the train driver was sleeping when the train collided. The Minister of Transport has stated his resignation to Egypt’s president Mohamed Morsi, yet Morsi has reported that there will a severe investigation concerning the matter and those responsible will be held accountable.

WE SAID THIS: We Hope This Is A Wake Up Call For The Government Concerning The Safety Hazards That Our Railways Face, It Is Just Sad How So Many Had To Pay The Price.
