Al Jazeera Offices Were Shut down in Saudi Arabia
Shortly after Saudi Arabia announced it had cut ties with Qatar, the Kingdom also shut Al Jazeera’s office in Saudi Arabia — Qatar’s influential satellite channel.
The State of Qatar owns Middle Eastern broadcasting giant Al Jazeera, which has 80 offices all over the world, and is funded by Qatar.
In addition to closing its office, KSA has also withdrawn Al Jazeera’s license to operate inside the Kingdom.
The UAE has also blocked the channel from broadcasting inside the country last week. The blocking began before the UAE had even announced that it would be cutting ties with Doha.
